Элементу носителя сопоставляется целое значение value_of. Носитель с такими значениями предъявляется сценой как моноид: умножение целых ассоциативно и имеет единицу.
Первый элемент делит второй, когда его значение отлично от нуля и евклидов остаток второго значения по первому равен нулю (§58, E-0062). Ноль ничего не делит; делимость нулевого элемента другим следует из остатка.
Прочтение выводит divides контракта из значений; импортированные правила mathlib применяются к выведенным посылкам через тот же контракт.
