6 Saving A ratepayer’s entitlement to a rebate for a rating year ending before 1 July 2025, and the amount (if any) of that rebate, must be determined as if this order had not been made. Rachel Hayward, Clerk of the Executive Council. Explanatory note This note is not part of the order but is intended to indicate its general effect. This order, which comes into force on 1 July 2025, amends section 3(1) of the Rates Rebate Act 1973. That section provides for a rates rebate for low-income home owners. This order— • increases the income threshold for a rates rebate from $31,510 to $32,210; and • increases the maximum rates rebate from $790 to $805. Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2019. Date of notification in Gazette: 10 April 2025. This order is administered by the Department of Internal Affairs.
